Overnight in our Bell Tent
Our 30 acre property is located at the end of a dead end road in the Township of Mulmur, about an hour and a half north of Toronto. It is part of Ontario’s Niagara Escarpment which is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The Bruce Trail runs across the property. You can access the trails by turning right or left from our driveway.
Our Bell Tent is located in a grassy opening near our orchard, in sight of our gardens and home. A short walk through the flower beds leads to a back porch, outside sitting/eating area with BBQ, pool, and three piece bathroom whose use is set aside for visiting guests during their stay. The path is lit during the evening/night.
The Bell Tent is currently available to rent from September 7th through until October 19th, 2024, for one to two night stays, if the weather remains mild.
The Bell Tent is 16ft in diameter. You can stand up in it in the middle.
It has a queen sized bed with Belgian linens, a selection of pillows, down duvet. Additional quilts, duvets, pillows provided as well, all kept freshly laundered.
A second single bed can be set up, if required.
There is a small writing desk and chair, table and chair outside for eating.
A short walk through the garden brings you to the back of the house where there is a porch, outside sitting area and three piece bathroom for your private use.
The pathway is lit in the night.
In season, there is also a pool and bbq that may be used.
For those with allergies, please note there are bee hives on the property.
And as it is in the country, there are assorted wild animals about - porcupine, raccoons, rabbits, wild turkeys, deer, and a great assortment of birds.
$100 a night, email transfer. Late afternoon arrival. Mid morning departure. Cost is for usage of tent, irrespective of number of occupants.
Once the tent is booked, it will be ready and waiting for you on arrival. If privacy and quiet is your desire, you will be left on your own. But if you have any specific needs, or wish to engage in conversation, you need only seek us out.
Breakfast, or light meals, may be provided on arrangement. Additional cost.
Visitors are welcome to wander in the gardens and harvest produce from the garden or orchard as they wish.
For cold weather hikers, there are two guest bedrooms in our home.
